- Summary:
- Guaduas is a town in Colombia, in the Lower Magdalena Province department of Cundinamarca, about 117 km from Bogota´. It is an agricultural and tourist center of some importance with a population of about 33,000. Its name refers to a type of bamboo cane and this book is a study of the project of the Mama´ Lulu´ farm in order to learn the vernacular construction techniques in bamboo. This gave rise to the Permaculture Seminar where the work carried out by Hernando Hincapie´ and his family, who through a community cooperative have done very interesting and powerful contructions using bamboo.
