Summary:

This book presents reflections and proposals on how children relate to technologies, focusing on the scenario immediately prior to the declaration of the health emergency associated with COVID-19. It analyzes the conditions of access to technologies in Argentina, particularly in the Buenos Aires suburbs, and examines how unequal conditions manifest in processes of technology appropriation by children aged 6-8 years old. The book considers the home and school as technocultural environments that shape children's relationships with technologies. It discusses the meanings children attribute to technologies, media representations of the relationship between childhood and technology, and proposes interactive activities to support the teaching of reading and writing in primary school using digital technologies.
