- Summary:
- In 2024, the flames of war have not yet been extinguished. One hundred and ten years ago, the First World War erupted across Europe. Today, great power rivalry, factional divisions, arms races, nationalism, confrontational conflicts, and assassinations create a striking resemblance to the situation leading up to World War I. This documentary explores, through a comparison of history and reality, whether the time for Third World War is coming. What were the origins of World War I? How did it unfold? What insights can it offer us today? The production team traveled to Germany and France to explore various historical sites from World War I, stepping into the actual trenches of the war, visiting the graves of fallen soldiers, and touring several museums about the war. They interviewed prominent scholars and researchers specializing in World War I, as well as contemporary experts in international relations, analyzing history from multiple perspectives. Using various methods, including on-site visits and AI technology, the documentary aims to reconstruct history and examine how people can avoid war and collectively safeguard precious peace.
