- Summary:
- During the past two years many interesting and informative papers on positive-displacement meters have been prepared by pipeline-operating personnel and meter manufacturers. These papers discuss such topics as the relationship of meter slippage to the viscosity of the fluid measured and to the derived mechanical factor, the effect of compressibility on the mechanical factor, and the effect of the thermal expansion of steel. Other papers deal with new techniques and practices. Together, these two groups of information will serve as a basis for the rewriting of the new meter code sponsored by ASME and API, dealing with the "Installation, Proving, and Operation of Positive-Displacement Meters in Liquid Hydrocarbon Service."
