Summary:
Christmas comes in strange ways for the out-of-work Amendola family, who struggle to take over an apartment occupied by the former tenant's performing squirrel, Rupert. As a giftless Christmas nears for the Amendolas, the concept of redistribution of wealth takes on new meaning. The landlord has stashed a monthly stipend of $1,500 in the wall where Rupert lodges. He starts showering the money down into hands of Mrs. Amendola who has prayed for a miracle. The Amendolas further re-distribute their new found wealth by investing it in neighborhood businesses, until those who have not benefited from their largess become jealous and launch an investigation
