Summary:
Archival caption: Fashion - Blouses: Fine and Dandy. Every now and again the urge to "dress up" creeps into the normally staid world of seasonal styles. It happened with the punk rockers, the pirates and the new romantics. Now it's here again - straight from the haberdashery department. In a reaction against the current trend for grey and black shades, this year's dressing-up look is taken - via the cutting room - from the furnishing floor. As long as it's brocade, damask or chintz liberally mixed with lace, it's acceptable. And people are wearing it with lisle stockings, ornate jewellery and velvet slippers. Try it - step back right into the fashion front line. Old Style....New fashion. February 1985.
