- Archival caption: Police raid warehouse and confiscate obscene publications, Stratford, East London, 14th June 1988. Officers from Scotland Yard Obscene publications squad set to work sorting out a mountain of magazines, books and tapes at the headquarters of the Quietlynn Ltd Publications Empire in Stratford, East London. By the end of the raid, four massive lorries had been driven away loaded with sealed parcels from the recently extended building. The haul, thought to contain a million items, will be guarded at a high security police storeroom. Quietlynn have denied that the seized material was obscene. The firm has vowed to fight legal moves to destroy the haul.
