Archival caption: Bob Geldof for the Band Aid Trust announces the most ambitious venture in the history of popular music. On Saturday 13th July two massive rock concerts will be simultaneously stages on both sides of the Atlantic, under the banner "Live Aid". London's Wembley Stadium and a US venue will be the setting for a unique gathering of the worlds top rock stars. Each one will be donating their services free and all proceeds will benefit millions of innocent people dying in Africa . Pictured, left to right, Adam Ant, Elton John, Midge Ure and Bob Geldof. 10th June 1985.
