- Archival caption: The Clash performing at De Montfort Hall, Leicester, Leicestershire on 20th July 1982 as part of their Combat Rock Tour. Left to right is Mick Jones, centre is lead singer and songwriter Joe Strummer, right is bass player Paul Simonon and at the back is Topper Headon on drums. Songs performed that night included the hits London Calling, The Magnificent Seven, Rock the Casbah, Should I Stay Or Should I Go and I Fought The Law. The Clash has formed in 1976 and were a major force in the Punk, Ska and New Wave movement of the late 1970s. In 1983, the band started to disintegrate, firstly with Topper Headon being asked to leave. Picture taken 20th July 1982.
