- Archival caption: Sting (real name Gordon Sumner) arrives at West London Hospital to see his new baby, Brigitte Michael "Mickey" Sumner (born 19 January 1984). And her mother, Sting's girlfriend Trudie Styler. Brigitte went on to be an English actress best known for her roles as Sophie Levee in Frances Ha and Katia on Low Winter Sun.. The Police were a British rock band formed in London in 1977. The Police became globally popular in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Emerging in the British new wave scene, they played a style of rock influenced by punk, reggae, and jazz. Aswell as five hit albums, including Outlandos d'Amour and Reggatta de Blanc, they enjoyed global hit singles such as Roxanne, Message In A Bottle and Every Breath You Take. Band members were Stewart Copeland on drums, Sting (real name Gordon Sumner on lead vocals, bass, and the main songwriter) and Andy Summers on guitar. Henry Padovani was also their guitarist from January to August 1977, but left the band before they became famous. Picture taken 20th January 1984.
