Archival caption: Johnny Marr, guitarist and songwriter with the Manchester music group The Smiths. The band were together from 1982 to 1987 and consisted of vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke and drummer Mike Joyce. By the time this picture was taken, The Smiths had released Hand In Glove and This Charming Man as singles in 1983, and their debut album "The Smiths" had been released too. Picture taken 12th March 1984.
