- Summary:
- Published irregularly between 1980 and 1985, Medicine Bag was a local newsletter produced by the Salt Lake Indian Health Center. Primarily, the publication focusses on updating Indigenous residents of the Salt Lake area with developments in local health and medical services. The newsletter also contains advice columns, such as one which offered parents advice on how to "Get Your Children to Eat Vegetables". Each issue features a short comments section from the Director of the Indian Health Center, which included announcements of local developments. Later issues have a somewhat informal feel, and feature images of the Center's staff joking and having fun; at this point, the publication would also expand its purview, featuring information on local sports events in addition to health news.
