Archival caption: Aftermath. Scene of Disaster, Thursday 30th May 1985. Juventus v Liverpool, 1985 European Cup Final, Heysel Stadium, Brussels, Wednesday 29th May 1985. Heysel Stadium Disaster. 39 people, mostly Juventus fans, died when escaping missiles being thrown by both sets of fans across a narrow divide in sections X and Z. Escaping fans were pressed against a collapsing wall, approximately 1 hour before kick off.
