Published for the first time on September 6, 1974, The Medicine Bundle was the semi-official publication of the Montana United Scholarship Service, Opportunities Incorporated of Great Falls and the Indian Education Center; later, the Scholarship Service alone would retain a publishing role. Released monthly, the newsletter was intended to share information about the agencies' activities, and thus focussed primarily on education. Articles on scholarships, recruitment and educational trends were common amongst the pages of The Medicine Bundle. Other contemporary topics relating to Indigenous communities were also included, such as federal legislation, legal status, the penal system and the teaching of Indigenous heritage. The newsletter ceased publication in 1983.
