Summary:
Archival caption: Demonstration by the London Women Against Violence against Women. About a hundred women with placards marched from Broad Street Station to Whitechapel. Some of them carried their latest idea of deterrents against being attacked by men, a plastic lemon juice, namely Jif, a plastic lemon shaped juice container that can be squeezed into the eyes of a would-be attacker. During the display Judith Lowe (right) who teaches self defence shows one of the methods of foiling an attacker. 13th February 1981.
