- Archival caption: Sid Vicious, bass guitarist of the British punk group the sex Pistols, opts for a trial by jury against a drug charge when he and American girlfriend Nancy Spungen appeared before Marylebone magistrates court in London, Wednesday 8th February 1978. Vicious, aged 20, appeared under his real name of John Simon Beverley. The couple are accused of possessing the drug Methamphetamine in a London hotel room last November.
