Summary:
This study offers a social analysis of normalismo in Mexico, focusing on a recent stage in the history of schoolteachers and its impact on their practice, as well as on the development of everyday thinking shaped in teacher-training colleges (normales). This way of thinking evolved alongside school life experiences and professional activities, where corporatism acted as a political control mechanism by incorporating a discourse that turned into what this study defines as the Dominant Interpretive Discourse. The objective of this publication is to present, through six interviews, the perspectives of researchers specialized in educational issues on the concept of normalismo as a key element of primary school teachers identity.
