- Summary:
- Comprehensive tests have been made at the Naval Air Station, Hampton Roads, Virginia, to compare the performances of the F-5-L Boat Seaplane fitted direct drive and geared Liberty engines. These tests were planned and conducted so as to eliminate as far as possible the personal equation of the pilot and the differences in performance of two airplanes of the same type.
