Summary:
This project has been developed and sponsored by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement, Alaska OCS Region to assess the social and economic effects of major oil spill litigation and disbursement of compensatory and punitive damage awards in areas affected by the Exxon Valdez oil spill. This report studies the communities of Kodiak Island and others in the Kodiak Island Borough. Socioeconomic statistics from as early as 1969 are compared to 2010.
