- Summary:
- Detection of a target is often performed by applying a binary hypothesis test on the output of a matched-filter receiver. This report presents a derivation of the probability density function and cumulative probability function of the matched-filter output for a chi-square fluctuating target in Gaussian noise. The cumulative probability function is used to determine the probability of target detection for a given false alarm probability. Target detection, Chi-square fluctuation, Gaussian noise, Probability of detection.
