Representing a variety of genres (personal narratives, fiction, folktales, and poetry), the texts are grouped under three themes: Heroes and Friends, Perspectives, and No Easy Answers. Curriculum Units contain two separate, but complimentary language arts units, Reading and Responding to Literature and A Reading and Writing Workshop.
