Summary:
Reports on the findings and recommendations of Task Force on Privacy, Technology and Criminal Justice Information which was supported by BJS and SEARCH, The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics. The Task Force met three times and included representatives of Federal and State law enforcement, the judiciary, academics, media, private sector information distributors, and privacy advocates. The task force reviewed the law and policy addressing the collection, use, and dissemination of criminal justice record information and, particularly, criminal history record information. The findings address a wide variety of issues which impact on privacy decisions and are relevant to persons considering the privacy impacts presented by advances in technology.
