- Summary:
- This report is an overview and discussion of the finer details not found in most of the photon mapping documents that currently exist. While the vast majority of photon mapping media tends to market this global illumination algorithm as a do-it-all turn-key solution, they fail to discuss the finer details and pitfalls that developers will encounter in the implementation process. Finer details are also covered to not only explain what to expect during the implementation process, but also to provide graphical examples that may serve as a beacon during the various milestones throughout the implementation process.
