Summary:
This document sets out the strategic framework and action plans to continue progress towards eliminating syphilis from the United States. The strategies and recommended activities have been developed based on available evidence, expert opinion, and lessons learned from colleagues involved in the local, state, and national implementation of the Syphilis Elimination Effort (SEE). This plan also sets out the core values underpinning the SEE. It is intended to provide a framework within which CDC, states, and local health departments, community and relevant organizational partners will develop and deliver syphilis elimination activities that are best suited to the evolving epidemiology and to public health infrastructures.
