Summary:
This film tells the story of a young woman Niu'er, whose parents are killed during the Japanese invasion in Manchuria. When a Japanese officer attempts to rape her, Niu'er escapes with her grandfather and a young driver to another town. The driver finds work as a miner, but the Japanese take over the mine and soon are cruelly oppressing the Chinese workers
