Summary:

Two children are placed in foster care, but the woman who is their foster mother is abusive towards the children. A social worker, Grace, makes a surprise visit to the home, and hears the beatings. With no physical evidence, however, she is unable to remove the children from the woman. Things seem to get worse when a local businessman, Felix, runs over Mark, one of the children. Felix flees the scene of the accident when an angry mob shows up, but he is later tormented by his actions. The story takes a suprising turn when Grace takes the children from the abusive woman and asks Felix to adopt them
