English short title catalogue records two settings. One (N505685; dated 1798?) has imprint which begins "Sold by J. Evans ..." and whose second line ends: "Religious Tracts,)". The other (N7978; dated between 1799-1801?) has imprint which begins "Sold by J. Evans and Co." and whose second line ends: "and Religious". In this copy, the imprint begins "Sold by J. Evans ..." and its second line ends: "and Religious".
Imprint date conjectured by English short title catalogue: "Evans became printers to the Cheap Repository in December 1797; the form J. Evans and Co. was used from 1799. Hatchard was at 173 Piccadilly until July 1801; this story did not appear in the 1798 collected edition of Cheap Repository shorter tracts, but was added in the 1799 edition."
