Working with traditional techniques in oil and tempera, Yu Nishimura has formed a painterly style that echoes Japanese anime and street photography. The artist employs brushwork that has a fluid and dreamlike effect through a process of superimposing layers, overlapping, and misaligning forms to manifest blurred or fleeting memories.
