- Summary:
- This text aims to deepen our understanding of twin pottery vessels from 2nd millennium BC Bronze Age Eastern Iberia, found in settlements, caves, shafts and graves from the Vinalopó Valley to Navarre. A bibliographical and photogrammetry-based approach aims to identify how the Tipo Pleno twin vessel is disseminated, exploring connections between territories during the Argaric period which coincides with the peak of a new economic power centre: Cabezo Redondo in the Vinalopó valley, home to the second biggest gold and silver hoard in Bronze Age Europe. Additionally, and through comparison with mythical narratives and ethnographic sources, it is argued that Bronze Age twin vessels were a manifestation of the universally present divine twin cult linked to the Bronze Age solar cult, traceable from Scandinavian sites down to the Mediterranean.
