- Summary:
- As the result of a systematic survey of the fields covering the Late Roman pottery workshop of Sidi Zahruni (Nabeul, Tunisia), we have documented an enormous amount of pottery, especially amphorae, which enabled us to study in detail the production of this workshop. The African 3 - Keay 25 form was particularly prevalent. We also studied the exports of this pottery in the western Mediterranean, carrying out an exhaustive follow-up of the evidence found in the areas importing such goods. The study of the Sidi Zahruni amphorae has allowed us to make an important contribution to the knowledge of trade between Africa and the western Mediterranean in the late Roman period, raising the question of the products contained within these amphorae. It has allowed us to assess the importance of the port of Neapolis as a key centre for commercial exports between Roman Africa and the provinces of the western Mediterranean.
