Lettres de Monsieur le marquis de Montcalm, gouverneur-general en Canada
Place of Publication:
Londres : Chez J. Almon ..., 1777.
Notes:
Three letters, purported to have been written by Louis-Joseph, marquis de Montcalm de Saint-Véran, but definitely not composed and written by this gentleman, and hence a forgery. Authorship attributed to Pierre Joseph Antoine Roubaud, a Jesuit missionary in Canada, by Backer-Sommervogel and Adams, but according to Staton and Tremaine this is also incorrect; the English version (which differs from the French text) was composed by an anonymous author, while the French version was possibly prepared by Roubaud.
