Shotwell in 1821 from the school fund of the Chesterfield Preparative Meeting. The Meeting split into Orthodox and Hicksite faction in 1827, and repayment of the loan was subsequently claimed by both Joseph Hendrickson (treasurer of the fund for the Orthodox faction) and Stacy Decow (treasurer of the fund for the Hicksite faction).
