- Summary:
- "This precious document is an interview with the three Moses sisters, Ethel, Julia and Lucia Lynn, made by historian Pearl Bowser for her project of archiving an oral history that gathers over 200 documents and accounts of key Afro-American figures. In this video recorded in 1978, the sisters, then aged around 70, talk about their memories of working chorus girls and dancers at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem and, for the first two, their past as the starlets of race films. Their views and reflections on what celebrity means to them also help to give meaning to a feeling of belonging, to their perception of the black American community."--Festival des 3 Continents website.
