Summary:
Made to Measure is a data experiment that explores whether a person can be reconstructed using only their digital footprint. In summer 2020, over 100 people across Europe anonymously submitted their personal data from Google and Facebook. We selected one data set covering five years of a woman's life and recreated her personality and experiences in detail. To ensure feasibility, we focused solely on the data Google is legally required to provide under EU law. The result: more than 100,000 data points -- searches, locations, videos watched -- revealing how deeply our digital traces capture who we are. Can a life be replayed from data alone? Made to Measure puts this to the test.
