- Summary:
- On November 19, 2017, Zahra Khawari, a Hazara student at Kabul University, died by suicide. Kamay follows her family's years-long struggle for answers amid Afghanistan's failing judicial system. Her sister Freshta continues Zahra's botany research, collecting the Kamay plant in the mountains, while grappling with grief and fear as she nears university herself. Filmed over six years, Kamay documents a Hazara family's pursuit of justice against the backdrop of war, Taliban resurgence, and systemic discrimination. Filmmaker Yourish, a Hazara in exile, gives voice to a silenced community: 'The world has abandoned us again -- but we will not stop. We continue telling stories of resistance by those who stayed.'
