More than a century after the opera’s premiere, the first suite of waltzes from Richard Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier opens the gala at the very same concert hall where it was first performed in 1911. The dazzling, classic-filled program also features Mozart’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 21 and excerpts from his beloved operas The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, and The Magic Flute, not to mention timeless favorites by Jacques Offenbach, Johann Strauss II, and Franz Lehár.
