Summary:
Here, traditional Mandinka music is combined with electro and hip-hop. The colourful dresses, smiles and the festivities of the concert run in contrast to the struggle contained within the message of the "Supergroup" initially founded in 2014 by famous Malian musicians: Mamani Keïta, Oumou Sangaré and Mariam Doumbia. Taking place at Real World Studios, Mamani Keïta, the Beninese singer Fafa Ruffino, the Ivorian Kandy Guira and the Guinean Niariu Tiguidanké Diallo a.k.a Niariu call urgently for improvement in the conditions of women around the world through their choir that offers a poignant power that can only be conjured through pain and injustice. The wind of modernity is blowing through this group, whose members change while its message stays strong. They have just released their latest album on Peter Gabriel Real World Records' label entitled Amazones Power, a project that brings together no less than 18 voices and 10 musicians from all walks of life, united around the themes of freedom, equality and emancipation of women in the world. Accompanied by Nadjib Benbella on turntables, Franck Baya on drums and Thierry Fournel on guitar, this show marks a breath of fresh air, a wake-up call, a tsunami of energy and emotions, a hope for all the women of this world. **Anaïs Christidis Guillemard**.
