This book explores the experiences of children in a primary school and a popular education workshop in the peripheral neighborhoods of Villa María, Córdoba. It focuses on children's agency from the perspective of the "niñe body" and examines how social regulation, moralities, and sensitivities shape their relationships and disputes with various agents across different spaces and times. The ethnographic chronicle slows down the pace of explanation to grasp how children develop ambivalent practices and narratives to assert themselves socially, materially, and territorially. In school, they navigate rules, challenge adult authority, and experiment with alternative ways of learning. In the workshop, they negotiate resource distribution and discuss moral viewpoints. Across both settings, children form peer connections, care networks, and develop work arrangements with relative autonomy from their families. The book questions perspectives that prioritize verbal, textual, and linear discourses on childhood, inviting readers to rethink intergenerational relationships and new ways of engaging with different social groups.
