Summary:
Includes a selection of Reinhardt's political cartoons as well as a facsimile of his FBI file. According to Ad Reinhardt's (1913-1967) own tongue-in-cheek chronology published in 1966 for his show at the Jewish Museum in New York the same, his 1930s years in the city were spent studying art, editing student magazines, producing illustrations and getting involved in political activities. The chronology at this point does not mention the entry of the United States into World War II nor the outlawing of the Communist Party of the USA as an enemy organisation. The fact that he was then suspected of having been a member of the Communist Party, or at least a Fellow Traveller and supporter, is not mentioned either. The fact a file was opened by the FBI on Ad Reinhardt is not in question, the reasons that might have been the case remain open.
Notes:
Includes text Ad Reinhardt, a supplement to a chronology = Ad Reinhardt, complemento a una cronología.
