- William's botanic formulary includes recipes for the treatment of common disorders. The 'Last Legacy' appeared in at least eighteen recorded editions between 1811 and 1842. The pamphlet's enduring popularity may be attributed to its brevity, the author's selection of the most common diseases and accidents, the clarity of his recipes and the availability of the botanicals required.
