Summary:
Antonio Manuel (Avelãs de Caminha, Portugal, 1947) is one of the most relevant names linked to Brazilian experimental art. His work, which comprises painting, performance, installation and films, among other media, has as its central theme the Brazilian social and political context and the art system. "Incontornáveis" (Unavoidable) is the name of the series of unpublished works that Antonio Manuel produced during the confinement imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. "The basis of this book is these new, unpublished works, produced during the collection to which we were subjected in 2020. I consider them to be openings that are realized and revealed in the precise action of the hands, as continuous lines of light and energy. An exercise of freedom that moves in events and revelations." states Antonio Manuel.
