Summary:

Curated by specialist María Cristina Rossi, the exhibition offers a selection of pieces (paintings, drawings, prints, illustrations, toys and calligraphic books) made by Joaquín Torres García during his stays in Barcelona, Paris, New York and Montevideo, including nine paintings from the holdings of the MNBA, and works from Argentine public and private collections. "The Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes joins with this exhibition the tributes for the 150th anniversary of the birth of Torres García, the Uruguayan master who made a school in Latin American art and whose pictorial and written work acquired a true international projection," explains the director of the Museum, Andrés Duprat.
