Summary:
The Blu-ray format was developed by a consortium of electronics companies, including Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, and Toshiba. The group was formed in 2002 to create a new disc format that could store high-definition video and more data than DVDs could. The format was officially announced in 2003 and was first released commercially in Japan in 2006. This is the story of Blu-Ray; its past, present & remarkable future.
