- Summary:
- Marilyn Miller repeats her Broadway triumph. A New York City waitress is hired to impersonate a famous Russian dancer, where she finds that her love interest is engaged to another woman. Her own love of dancing leads her to star in a Broadway musical. Although originally produced as a color film, the only print now available is in b & w; in 1990, a color print of the musical number "Wild rose" was found and restored to the print.
- From waitress to Broadway star! In her first of only three films, 1920s Broadway sensation Marilyn Miller recreates one of her greatest stage hits in Sally, a lavish, heart-on-its-sleeve Cinderella story (punctuated with some color sequences) that showcases Miller's beauty and lyrical dancing.
