Summary:

The first retrospective in Mexico by Julieta Aranda, a Mexican artist who lives in Berlin, to be held at MUAC UNAM. In "Clear Coordinates for Our Confusion", Julieta Aranda combines various disciplines and media in systemic sculptures, navigating the different fields in which we interact with time-personal, biological, scientific, geopolitical, economic, philosophical, literary, etc.-in order to recognize the poetic events in which it escapes the western anthropological machine's thousand-year-old effort to domesticate it and turn it into a tool for planetary domination. "We are pleased to welcome another of Julieta Aranda's creations to the library of the Goethe Institut Mexiko: the installation "Time/Bank". Previously presented at 18 DOCUMENTA 13 (Kassel, 2012), the project creates a microeconomy by means of an alternative currency, based on the value of time." -page 18.
