Summary:

Gerardo Rodríguez Canales "Geroca" (Saltillo, Coahuila, México, 1955) is a plastic artist, cartoonist, caricaturist and illustrator. He arrived in Monterrey in 1973 to study Architecture where he lived for several years. He published his first cartoon in the first number of the newspaper Vanguardia de Saltillo in 1975 and since has become one of the oldest cartoonists of the Grupo Reforma. He is considered a visual and urban chronicler of the nocturnal and underground world of the city of Monterrey in Mexico. Thet exhibition-tribute "Mirón, Monero, Pintor" (Voyeur, Cartoonist, Painter) under the curatorship of Rocío Cárdenas Pacheco (Monterrey Nuevo León México, 1975) presents a selection of drawings, caricatures and paintings, characterized by Geroca's unique particular style and sarcastic humor. The catalogue comprises the color reproductions of 65 works created since the 1980s in various formats and with diverse topics.
