Summary:
This book offers a glimpse into Mexico City's Christmas days in the 1960s through a series of photographs selected from the Archivo Fotográfico El Heraldo Gutiérrez Vivó-Balderas (received into custody in 2017), as well as from other holdings and private collections, in addition to the words of Christmas lovers. Here, readers will encounter streets and avenues decorated with Christmas motifs; they will stop by the Alameda; they will ask for "posada" (lodging), they will break the piñata; they will go to stores and markets to buy the Nativity scene; they will look at shop windows full of toys; they will choose the Christmas tree... Each of the photographs included is part of the memories of the generations who lived through those days, who saw them in newspapers and magazines and who, perhaps, treasured them in family albums.
