A reproduction of the portrait of William Shakespeare is on page [3]. The playwright is wearing a lace ruff and costume similar to those depicted in the Cobbe and Janssen portraits. There is a similar portrait in the Folger Shakespeare Library digital collection titled "The Staunton portrait of Shakespeare."
