- Cem Ersavcı passed away in 2014, when his work in the field of photography was just beginning to be noticed and aroused curiosity by wider circles, at an early stage in his life and career, while on the road to explore the world by traveling on a motorcycle, another passion of his. After Cem's family and friends began working with the intention of organizing and archiving his existing works, they decided to create a book so that his works would not be overshadowed, with the desire and encouragement of his mother Hilal Aktopuk, and ensured that this book was published. "cem ersavcı" was prepared with the intention of creating a selection of Cem's works and introducing them to those who do not know him and his works; to commemorate Cem on the tenth anniversary of his death as his family, friends and loved ones, and to open a door to contribute to the recognition of his works. “cem ersavcı”, as the first book published after his death, includes the series “Unknown Island”, “Coast”, “Social Landscapes”, “Outside”, “Northern Forests” and “Koruganlar”, which reflect the diversity and consistency of Cem’s interests and approach rather than photographs from his entire oeuvre, and which he worked on for a long time or repeatedly, some of which he preferred to bring to light on his website and some of which he made dummy books. Prepared by remaining as faithful to Cem’s original selections and even their order as much as possible, “cem ersavcı” has a calm design where photographs are at the forefront but also contains small surprises at the end of the series (and sometimes within the chapters).
