Summary:
In 1963, families living on the land at Kivitoo were forcibly relocated, by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, to Qikiqtarjuaq, a town 50 km to the south, with a promise that they could return to Kivitoo. Unfortunately, upon returning there, they found that their homes had been burned down and bulldozed, their hunting dogs slaughtered and their belongings destroyed. Combining archival footage and interviews on the land with David Poisey, who experienced this forced relocation as a child, Zach learns more about this heartbreaking and shocking story, one that was all too common across the Arctic. The Canadian government made no apology and no restitution for its crimes against the humanity of the Inuit people.
